In the Middle of Day and Night

In the middle of day and night

I found you.

Just when the darkness is slowly creeping in,

you showed up.

And as if you know what I'm going to need,

you did not hear me speak,

but you brought a torch to chase away the dark

--- to bring light in the darkest hour.

You said you were not the sun

but just like the moon

you'd be there in my darkest hour,

holding a torch in the dark

and My Love, I knew it now.

And maybe I was wrong

that in the middle of that day and night,

It was you... who found me.

Spoken Words Poetry: Marahuyo

Virtues: Freedom

so you think you can shout and be greatly heard?

with the ocean underneath can you really felt?

your eyes were open but do they see to care?

the smell of deceit surrounds you unprepared

you run and tasted reality that no one finds

yet you buried them underneath the crime?

breath in and breath out but do you really live?

oh how far can you go ignoring what to reach?

said you were free but you constantly bleed

well i think you surely were deceived

you fool yourself just to make believe

boundless, limitless, no one can defeat

can you really spread your arms wildly free?

when everybody believes they own what they feed

feed the ground, feed the mind, whoever needs

they will take everything you own and leave

your senses will be awaken as time goes on

here comes the reality you’ll regret to know

you believe you were free until you get old

and then you’ll realize you were barred all along

maybe you were free that moment you were born

but then you inhale the air the world has offered cold

now you sadly know you are in a bigger debt

but don’t you worry freedom is never dead

surrender to Jesus and not to this world

and then you will see how freedom really works

this time it will be your turn to spread the word

with every senses be freed, tell them how freedom works.

Virtues: Courage

Inhale, exhale, leap
Still you wait for the beat
Wondering if it’ll cut deep
Or maybe you won’t feel a thing

Care not for your heart
It will stop shouting hard
But don’t feel sad afterward
It’s your choice not to hear it out

The thing you should know
Is the truth that time is short
If you think it’s your purpose
Then why do you keep it false?

It’s okay to take it slow
As long as you’re moving close
You may not reach your gold
But at least you have tried a dose

We fear what we don’t know
But that’s the beauty of the unknown
Living a life unpredictable
Only God knows the tomorrow

So have courage and look above
Take that step and move forward
If He knows what’s going on
Then why fear the unknown?

But before this poem end
Fear is essential, I must tell
Seek God’s voice, please be sure
Or useless courage will show

Virtues: Hope

Why do you swim against the current?
where you feel alone and different
where things are tough and unkind
where tears may fall but no one finds

Why do you still hold her hands so tight?
when she have told you to let her die
when she have pushed you so hard and far
when she have given up and never want to fight

Why do you put up that smile on your face?
while deep inside you’re so much in pain
while thinking that everything’s not okay
while believing that later it won’t be fake

Why do you live as if you really own forever?
though you know you can’t stay any longer
though life often tastes sour and bitter
though happiness may turn to never

Why do you still care for this world?
you see how it rots everyday
you despise the justice they prevail
you witnessed how humanity can fail

What is that thing that keeps you going?
Is it the heart that doesn’t stop beating?
The passion you always have deep within?
Or the so called Hope you never stop holding?

Why do you keep on closing your eyes?
bowing your head and bending your knees
clasping your hands as He catches your tears
crying your heart out as He hugs you so dear

Help me tell the world where to get that kind of Hope.
Because I think everybody needs to know
Because then maybe the world won’t be so cold
Because finally they’ll see that with God there is Hope.

Virtues: Happiness

You went and climbed the mountain so high
But later you started digging its bottom ground
What is it that you’re looking for in this life?
Can you not see you’ve been chasing a lie?

You tried to learn how to really fly
But then you decided to just walk on by
What is it that you’re looking for this time?
Can you not see you’re just fooling your mind?

You told him you love him so real
But now you’re doubting what you feel
What is it that you’re looking for in love?
Can you not see everything’s not enough?

You wonder where to wander next
Just to feel that lovely caress
‘Oh happiness, show me your face!’
You always whisper, you always say.

And tell me creature how long will it be,
Before you realize it doesn’t exist?
But maybe I’m wrong, what do I know.
Am just about to find what I’ve been looking for.

You may take your own path and be wise
But please heed this precious advice:
True happiness depends not in a place
It goes with you as you’re walking away.

Now do you understand what I’m trying to say?
You must exist to find your way
‘Oh happiness, show me your face!’
Then God says, ‘it is I silly, let Me lead your way’.
